Welcome to IDEAxCHANGE

and thank you for your participation!

This year's IDEAxCHANGE was open during May 2014, during which time any UTMB employee could post ideas, solutions, comments, and feedback. Everyone at UTMB was encouraged to exchange ideas that would make UTMB even better. The ideas exchanged in M can be seen by clicking on "Archived Posts (show)" on the left side of this page.

To make it easier to navigate different ideas, IDEAxCHANGE was divided 5 sections:
- Grand Challenges – share creative solutions to UTMB Grand Challenges & post new challenges
- Ideas – share ideas to improve UTMB and its patient care, research, education, etc.
- Problems – uncover problems that you would like solved; your colleagues can share creative solutions
- Comments – share any other thoughts
- Translational Science Challenges – help solve these challenges in Translation Science research & post additional challenges

Please read the FAQs for guidance about what was be posted in these areas. Also, the FAQs discuss how employees won iPads for their IDEAxCHANGE participation.

Whenever appropriate, MODERATORS forwarded community ideas and problems to UTMB administrators and worked to ensure prompt response and action. We will update IDEAxCHANGE as we receive additional feedback from UTMB leadership in response to your ideas and problems.

In June 2014, IDEAxCHANGE solutions, challenges, ideas, and problems entered the Collaborative Innovation class. Here, teams reviewed posted solutions, challenges, ideas, and problems, and selected the one they wanted to tackle. This year, a campus team addressed CEO Sollenberger's Grand Challenge of "How can we motivate more employees to use UTMB as their healthcare provider?" The team developed a novel program to enroll employees during New Employee Orientation training. The team's creative solution and implementation plan were presented to, and enthusiastically endorsed by, President Callender, CEO Sollenberger, and Provost Jacobs. The team is coordinating with HR leadership to complete their program's full deployment.
